About Me
My name is Matt. I am the curator of this site and the collector behind the collection.
Like a lot of people my age, I grew up with LEGO. I especially loved the Space theme — Galaxy Explorer was my favorite set and I still have those original bricks today. I stopped building in my late teens and twenties, the way most of us do. The dark years.
I came back to LEGO in my thirties when my kids were old enough to build. We fell hard for Star Wars. We built the original UCS Millennium Falcon together in 2008 and never really stopped. A few years later I came across an article about how much that set had appreciated since it was retired. That was the beginning of something I did not entirely see coming.
As I learned more about LEGO Star Wars collecting I became obsessed — first with sealed sets, then minifigures, then promotional items, then the pieces that exist at the edges of the official catalog. The items with no set numbers. The master builder statues given away at retail contests. The press mailers sent to toy industry executives before the first sets ever hit shelves. The employee gifts. The one-of-a-kind commissioned builds. The things that most collectors do not even know to look for.

What You Will Find on This Site
BringMeSolo is built around three things:
The Collection — a comprehensive database of every LEGO Star Wars set, minifigure, and promotional item ever produced, including items that do not exist in any other collector database. For standard sets we aggregate and link to the best existing resources. For rare and promotional items we are often the primary source.
The Stories — original research and firsthand documentation of the rarest items in the LEGO Star Wars universe. The 1999 Toy Fair press mailer. The 1999 Target Yoda and R2-D2 contest statues. The Hoth Xbox controller stand. The GameStop Boba Fett statue. The pieces most collectors have never seen and some have never heard of. We document what is known, correct what is wrong, and ask the questions nobody has thought to ask.
The Builds — building instructions for rare items that most collectors will never be able to own. Reverse engineered from photographs, video, and firsthand examination of original pieces. If you cannot buy it, you can build it.
