The only LEGO Star Wars exclusive ever packaged in a tin. CELEB2012 came to Star Wars Celebration VI in a cylindrical metal can wrapped in full-bleed Bespin artwork, with a Boba Fett minifigure exclusive to this set and a mini Slave I model that fits inside the open cockpit. 1,000 were made. Fewer than a quarter were sold at the event.
Star Wars Celebration VI ran August 23–26, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. LEGO was present with one exclusive set: CELEB2012, Boba Fett’s Mini Slave I. 1,000 were produced and individually numbered. According to the Lego Star Wars Wiki, only 250 were sold at the event itself — leaving the distribution of the remaining 750 unaccounted for in any public record. The original sale price has not been documented in any collector database.

The Tin
CELEB2012 is one of three LEGO Star Wars exclusives from 2012 — alongside COMCON019 and COMCON024 — all packaged in the same cylindrical tin format, making 2012 the only year LEGO used this packaging approach for its Star Wars event exclusives. The container is a cylindrical metal can approximately 4⅛” in diameter and 4⅞” tall, with a removable press-fit tin lid. The lid is secured with two tape seals to keep it closed.
The tin body is wrapped in a full-bleed printed paper label carrying a continuous panoramic illustration of Bespin’s Cloud City across all four cardinal orientations of the cylinder. The scene is warm-toned — rust, amber, and gold — with the city’s distinctive architecture visible throughout. The artwork carries the LEGO-rendered Slave I and Boba Fett minifigure integrated naturally into the cityscape.
The lid top carries a circular printed label with a medallion design: a close-up render of the Boba Fett minifigure helmet in the center, Bespin silhouetted behind it, and text reading LEGO® STAR WARS™ around the top arc and CELEBRATION VI EXCLUSIVE around the bottom arc, all on a brushed copper-tone background with a decorative dotted border ring.

The individual unit number is printed — not handwritten — in the field above the 1000 total. This collection’s examples are numbered 0707 and 0941.
The face carries the Slave I render showing the model in flight with the cockpit open and the Boba Fett minifigure seated inside, set against the Bespin cityscape. The label wraps continuously and the panoramic scene reads as a single uninterrupted image when the tin is rotated.
The Build
The set contains 81 pieces to build a mini Slave I — the Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft associated with Boba Fett. The model is built in a light grey, green, and dark red color scheme with tan wings. The wings are poseable, moving up for landing position and down for flight. The cockpit opens and can seat the included Boba Fett minifigure. Twin cannons are mounted at the front. The completed model is display-quality at this scale and designed to work with the minifigure as an integrated element rather than as a purely microscale build.
The Minifigure
The Boba Fett minifigure included in CELEB2012 is exclusive to this set in one specific and significant detail: the head piece under the helmet. The body — torso, legs, and helmet — uses the same parts as the Boba Fett in retail set 9496 (Desert Skiff) released the same year. However, the head uses the same piece found on Stormtrooper minifigures in 2012: a flesh-coloured face printed on a black head piece. This gives the unmasked Boba Fett a face not seen in any other LEGO set.
The minifigure also differs from other 2012 Boba Fett variants in what it omits: no shoulder pauldron, no jetpack, no cape, and no antenna on the helmet. It is a stripped-down version of the character — appropriate for a cockpit-seated display pose.
Both examples in this collection are sealed. The head detail cannot be confirmed from firsthand examination without opening a tin.
The Distribution
CELEB2012 was available at Star Wars Celebration VI between August 23 and 26, 2012 in Orlando. 1,000 were produced and individually numbered. Only 250 are documented as having been sold at the event — a convention that drew tens of thousands. The distribution mechanism for the remaining 750 is not publicly documented. Whether unsold examples were redistributed through other channels has not been confirmed in any collector source.
Current Value
BrickEconomy lists the current value at approximately $320 sealed. Secondary market examples appear periodically on BrickLink and eBay, with sealed tins in good condition — the label is susceptible to edge wear and scuffing — commanding a premium over examples with label damage. The tin format makes condition grading more complex than a standard box: the metal body is durable but the paper label is not, and the lid seal tape is subject to the same age-related degradation seen on other exclusives in this series.

What We Don’t Know
