The 2015 Dagobah Mini-build
Raffle Winners Only. Five More Via Twitter. A Hashtag Printed On The Seal. And The Last Set In The Rectangular Box Format.
The SDCC 2015 exclusive broke from the first-come-first-served and ticket formats of previous years — COMCON044 was available only to raffle winners, plus five additional sets given to winners of a Twitter competition. The Dagobah vignette is the most atmospheric of the three 2015 mini-builds, and the box is the last in the series that used the rectangular format introduced in 2013.
San Diego Comic-Con 2015 ran July 9–12. LEGO brought one Star Wars exclusive: COMCON044, the Dagobah Mini-build. Available only to winners of an on-site raffle held on July 12, 2015. Five additional sets were given to winners of a Twitter competition using the hashtag #LEGOSDCC held on the same day. The production run and distribution quantity have not been officially documented.
This collection holds one sealed example: #1070.
The End of the Rectangular Box Format
COMCON044 is the penultimate set in the rectangular box format introduced with COMCON032 in 2013 — FANEXPO002, released two months later, would be the last. The 2013–2015 rectangular series comprised at least seven Star Wars sets across SDCC, Star Wars Celebration, and Fan Expo Canada, all sharing the same basic box construction with event-specific colour schemes and artwork.
The Box
The box uses the familiar rectangular format with a heavily weathered, mossy, rain-streaked surface texture evoking the swamp environment of Dagobah — the most thematically immersive box art in the entire 2013–2015 series. The palette is wet grey, dark red, and dark green, with water droplet effects on several faces.
The front face carries the primary product information and main illustration — the completed Dagobah vignette with the X-wing partially submerged in the swamp, Yoda’s hut, and an R2-D2 minifigure render in the lower right with a callout reading R2-D2 Minifigure Included!:

The 2015 Exclusive San Diego Comic-Con International badge appears in the lower left corner of the front face. The Disney logo appears at the bottom.
The left and right side faces carry the same rain-streaked grey and dark red surface texture, each showing a partial view of the built model elements — moisture-covered panels, pipes, and a small arched door detail consistent with Dagobah structures. The LEGO Star Wars logo panel appears at the top of each side. The unit number — printed on a black LEGO brick graphic in the box art — is visible on the side faces alongside the black seal sticker that wraps from the bottom of the box up onto the sides. The seal sticker reads #LEGOSDCC in white text, making it the only seal in this collection that doubles as a social media hashtag.
The top face is plain black with a canvas-like texture and the LEGO logo centred — the same format as COMCON039.
The bottom face carries the black #LEGOSDCC seal sticker wrapping from the bottom up onto the sides, plus one circular sticker seal.
The back face carries the congratulations text alongside an illustration of the R2-D2 minifigure:

After the rise of the Empire, Jedi Master Yoda went into hiding on the swamp planet of Dagobah, where he would later be found by a young Luke Skywalker seeking to master the Force!
The Build
The set contains 177 pieces to build a Dagobah vignette on an 8×16 stud base — notably different in proportion from the 12×12 Tatooine builds of CELEB2015 and FANEXPO002. The scene depicts Dagobah as seen in The Empire Strikes Back: Yoda’s hut on the left, surrounded by swamp vegetation, with Luke’s X-wing partially submerged in the swamp on the right. Micro-scale brick-built figures of Yoda and Luke Skywalker are included — Yoda in dark green, Luke in Rebel pilot orange — alongside a full R2-D2 minifigure. The R2-D2 variant included is the flat silver head version with red dots, which at the time of release appeared only in two other sets.
The Distribution
COMCON044 was available exclusively to winners of an on-site raffle held on July 12, 2015 — the final day of SDCC 2015. This was a departure from the ticket-purchase format of 2013 and 2014, returning to a raffle mechanism not used since the 2009 SDCC exclusives. Five additional sets were given to winners of a Twitter competition using the hashtag #LEGOSDCC, held on the same day — the first time a social media component was incorporated into the distribution of a LEGO Star Wars SDCC exclusive. The #LEGOSDCC hashtag is printed on the seal sticker itself, making the packaging a direct reference to the distribution method.
Current Value
Brick Ranker places the current value at approximately $596 sealed — lower than both CELEB2015 and FANEXPO002 from the same year, reflecting the R2-D2 minifigure’s lower exclusivity compared to the C-3PO variants. Brickset lists approximately $414. Secondary market examples appear more frequently than the Tatooine pair, consistent with a higher production run or wider initial distribution.

This collection holds one sealed example: #1070. The black #LEGOSDCC seal sticker is intact. The box details documented here are from firsthand examination of this example.
What We Don’t Know
- The total production run — the production quantity for COMCON044 has not been officially documented. The highest known number in collector databases is over 1,200, suggesting a run larger than the 1,000-unit standard of earlier years. The exact total is not confirmed.
- The raffle mechanics — how many raffle entries were distributed, whether there was a daily component or a single raffle on the final day only, and the per-transaction limit for raffle winners have not been fully documented.
- The Twitter competition winners — five sets were distributed via the #LEGOSDCC Twitter competition. Whether these five examples are numbered or unnumbered, and whether they carry the standard seal sticker, has not been documented.
